Design of decomissioning (offshore) quay in Vlissingen-Oost completed

Walhout Civil completed the design of a new decomissioning quay structure for a contractor in Vlissingen-Oost, the Netherlands. The new quay is being realized as part of a decommissioning project of heavy topside oil platforms, jackets and offshore installations. Walhout Civil collaborated with the design and engineering specialists from the contractor, Heerema Marine Contractors and Ale Heavylift. The largest loadout of an offshore topside takes place with an SPMT configuration and weighs more than 8,000 tons. A total of more than 16,000 tonnes must be transhipped on the quay for the decommissioning project. The quay foundation is therefore provided with a special, concrete pile foundation and reinforced anchor construction. The implementation and realization of the new quay will start at the end of 2019.
