Multi-year contract for technical expertise of the Eastern-Scheldt Barrier

Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, awarded Walhout Civil a multi-year contract for technical consultancy of the Eastern-Scheldt Storm surge barrier. The Eastern-Scheldt Storm surge barrier (in Dutch: Oosterscheldekering) is with its 9 km the largest and most famous storm surge barrier in the world. Our senior consultant Johan Walhout is working proactive on the maintenance and conservation of the hydraulic constructions, control systems and civil engineering objects within the teams of Rijkswaterstaat.
